Museo Ixchel is located at Universidad Francisco Marroquín. It has a great collection of clothes used by people all around the country. This may not sound very interesting, but Guatemalan clothes are very characteristic and very unique depending on the location. Every region has a different kind of clothes full of color. Modern influence and high costs are changing local habits, but you can see this clothing everywhere and you can almost identify someone just looking at their clothes. This museum contains clothing and paintings of clothing for many places and occasions. It is open Monday thru Friday during the day and on the morning on Saturdays. This museum closes on Sundays.
