Kaminal Juyu Ruins are located inside Guatemala City in a residential area.  This ruins are an interesting place to start visiting pre-Columbian ruins in Guatemala. As with many places, you should bring your own guide.

The shopping center Tikal Futura and Grand Hotel Tikal Futura can be seen from the ruins.

Outside the park, there are some additional sites in the surroundings. This one is one where old carved stones are located.

Overview of part of the park. The roof on the right covers part of the ruins. Because these ruins are very old, they are covered with a zinc roof.

Overview of another part of the park. Zinc roofs cover the ruins.

Caves are located inside the ruins. These caves used to connect different parts of the ruins and only some of there can be used.

This a look of the inside of the ruins. Wood pilars hold the zinc roof, are not part of the origninal structure.

Wood covers most of the stairs and walking areas. These ruins are very detereorated and are not made of stone like other famous ruins of Guatemala.

Inside view of a closed part of the ruins.

Hotel Tikal Futura and Shopping Center can be seen from the park and ruins.
