The Palacio de la Cultura or Culture Palace was formerly known as Palacio Nacional or National Palace, it is the seat of Guatemalan Government. It is open to the public everyday. On Saturday and Sunday it closes for lunch from 12:00 AM to 1:00 PM. 

It was built during the dictatorship of President Jorge Ubico. Opened in 1943. It has impressive murals by Alfredo Gálvez Suárez and glasswork by Julio Urrela. 

It is located in the Central Park or Plaza Mayor  area.
