Maybe Baja Verapaz most famous place is Biotopo Mario Dary or Biotopo del Quetzal. This site a a protected Cloud Forest where, fi you are lucky can see a Quetzal, that besides being the local currency, is the national bird. Baja Verapaz is also home of the Chixoy Dam, not a tourist destination, but it provides an important part of the electricity of the country.
