San Pedro Sacatepéquez (Guatemala)

San Pedro Sacatepéquez, Guatemala is one of the two municipalities sharing the same name, being the other San Pedro Sacatepéquez, San Marcos.

To get to San Pedro Sacatepéquez son Guatemala City, you take Boulevard Liberación, up to “El Trebol”, there you take “Calzada San Juan”, the road to the right, NOT the one going to Antigua. Without traffic, you will get there in 20 minutes, with traffic, you can do more than an hour.

This municipalities  size is around 30 square km. (12 square miles) , and at 2,100 meters over sea level (6,900 feet).

There are also many big and medium furniture stores, mostly at the side of the road, where you can buy directly, home furniture. There is also production of fruits, vegetables and related farming, as well as flowers.

Worth seeing is the Central Park, The Market, the Catholic Church. The General Cemetery is very colorful if you like that kind of places. Coming back , you can stop at Aldea Vista Hermosa, where there is a great view of Guatemala City, and on Sundays, stop for Atol de Elote (A sweet corn beverage) and some other local foods.
